In the last lesson we covered

  • How to add filters to the filter list
  • The importance of filter order.

In this lesson we'll look at

  • How to move filters in the filter list
  • How to remove filters from the filter list
  • How to disable filters.

Moving Filters in the Filter List

In the previous lesson we briefly touched on how to move filters in the filter list.

To move a filter up or down:

  1. Select the filter
  2. Drag it up or down to its new position.

Deleting Filters from the Filter List

To delete a filter from the filter list:

  1. Select the filter
  2. Click the 'Remove' button in the lower left hand corner of TextPipe's window or press the 'Delete' key on the keyboard
  3. The filter is removed.

Disabling Filters

To disable a filter:

  1. Select the filter
  2. Double click it, OR right click it and uncheck the 'Enabled' flag, OR select Toggle filter Enable/Disable from the Edit Menu.

Exercise 3

  1. Load the filter file called 'tutorial\Lesson3.fll'
  2. Delete the filter(s) that are shown with delete in their title (ignore the plus signs next to the filter titles)
  3. Move the filter(s) to the location shown in their title
  4. Disable the filter(s) shown with disable in their title
  5. Click the 'Trial Run' button
  6. If you've done everything right, the Trial Run output should now display

    You've successfully completed
